Maryam Fanaei was born in Isfahan, Iran
She studied Microbiology at the University of Isfahan and was awarded her Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Giti Emtiazi (2019). During her Ph.D. course, she got a Baden –Wuerttemberg Fellowship to study at the Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg, Germany. After graduation and before returning to university, Maryam was worked in the biology industry in Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT). In 2022 she was appointed Associate Professor at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT). Maryam Fanaei research focuses on the application of bacterial metabolites (specially peptides and proteins) as a carrier for food supplements. In addition, she is working on the biological waste management.
